Great line-up, Ed!

I'll look forward to it.

Hugs from CT,
Fran

PS - Had our first snow today...amazingly mild winter. Fingers crossed that it stays that way until we move.

My kids want snow so bad it's -- okay, me, it's me, me, me, me -- I WANT SNOW! I feel like a Calvin & Hobbes cartoon. What must I do to appease the snow demons?!?!

See now, I didn't want snow. I live in Texas so I don't expect snow. But what do I get? Three days of snow/sleet/ice storms have been predicted. I've no choice but to blame Mr. Schubert for this mess.

As a fellow Texan, I agree! Of course, if we actually got snow here (Fort Worth), it might not be so bad. All we ever get is ice.

And I have a production question for Mr. Schubert...Since IGMS is an online publication, why is there a delay until February now that you have the lineup? To a non-geek like me, it seems like you'd just post the new material, and poof!

I realize this sounds kind of snotty, and I don't mean it that way. I'm actually curious about how the online system works (comes from years of being a journalist; you're nosey about everything).

It's not a snooty question, it's just based on incomplete information. Picking out the stories is only one piece of the equation. Once those stories are selected, they are all sent to different illustrators for the accompanying artwork. That takes time. Then it all needs to be properly formatted and laid out by our web-guy, who is not just just responsibile for IGMS, but all of the web-sites published by orson Scott Card (which I think is seven at last count). And speaking of Mr. Card, sometimes he is busy with other projects and we have to wait a bit for him to write his Edner Universe story. We've put other content up before his story was ready, but frankly I have found that everyone (myself included) prefers having his story available as soon as the issue is published. So as I said in the beginning, the question is a good one; it just doesn't take all the details into account. I'm glad you asked.

It's snowing. That's okay though, it will cover up the sleet that fell overnight, making a nice layered cold.

Hmph.

I've been through enough ice and sleet in my life to know not to wish for that or to wish that on anyone, regardless of how much snow might follow. Sorry.
